SEO Case Study

Today, let’s simply get you ready for being #1 in ranking.

I mean what I did exactly to get there.

I’m going show you every single step I did.

So, you may follow the same.

But before that, you need to start thinking the about the scenarios of your own niche. You need to do a little bit of analysis on your own.

Just stating, I am talking about keyword research and content planning along with commercial intent. In case you wanna update your knowledge about SEO, head over here:

Don’t act like a kid if you want to be successful in SEO.

It’s not a single night game.

I just said that as I think someone might ask about SITE URL or KEYWORDS. Just try to follow the steps I am gonna mention, and I am sure you’ll get somewhere better than now.

Do you wanna grab your today’s special learning catalyst from BlogRex?

Here is the Bonus tip:

Today I have a bit of a story to share; rather than a single sentence.

Do you know, a team can work hell lot more than a single person in a very short timeline?

Yes, it’s damn effective thing.

Big companies develop strong teams to generate exceptionally fast outcomes. And whenever they hire newbies, they train them while providing guides and work samples.

I am sure you know the meaning of guides, but what are the work samples?

These are very roughly drafted case studies actually. These can be old and even outdated, but still, the newly hired employees need to explore the exact thing to do, on their own.

And, that’s how you need to consider this case study.

Don’t waste your mind grinding thoughts on thinking about what it was. Just pay your extreme attention and focus on how it was done.

Just for your motivation, here are some screens of the traffic results on my site:

SEO Case Study

And Adsense earning? I would rather say its SEO case study not earning’s.

Now that you’ve got an overview of my traffic and ranking, do you wanna ask:

Ali…! How did you do that?

Right?

So let’s move on to our first heading!

NOTE: It is not the typical case study like many others on the internet. We’ve tried to keep it more general and easy to get.

Step #1
Keyword Research

Keyword Research

Many times I have said that “SEO is a Game Of Keywords,” and that still stands true.

Keyword Research indeed makes a huge difference in your SEO campaigns.

Correct keyword targeting is extremely important in SEO.

By correct I don’t mean the ultimately best keywords in any niche.

First, you need to find some good keywords, the one’s you can actually rank depending upon your website’s current status.

You know how I do that?

Google!

Use your common sense and Google to do keyword research.

How?

For a moment, consider yourself a Google user who is looking for the content published on your blog and think:

“How can you somehow find your post while searching for something?”

For example, let’s say I am targeting a long tail keyword “How to do keyword research.

Regardless of its search volume, I have selected to target this keyword.

Because I know, whatever the tools are saying but this keyword is very trendy and for sure will claim most part of the traffic of the major keyword “keyword research.”

Now the question is, how do I know that it’s a popular keyword?

The answer is very simple, I mean if you are an SEO niche relevant person, you can easily predict the near future of “How to do keyword research.”

That is also one of the reasons I ask everyone to:

“Always choose a niche about which you can predict.”

And what if you can’t choose your loved niche for any reason?

Still, there is no need to worry at all.

Google trends can do the prediction work for you and totally free.

You can read our keyword research guide for in-depth understanding…

NOTE: Must let us know if you are finding any difficulty to understand our Keyword Research Guide mentioned above. Team BlogRex will surely act on your feedback to improve quality and understanding.

Once you have compiled a list of healthy keywords, it’s time to analyze their competition.

Check the competition manually!

For example, look if some brand sites with very high authority are on the first page and targeting the exact same keyword as your target. It’s surely a high competition keyword.

Must write on your primary high competition keywords to make your internal linking strong, but don’t target high competition at early stages.

I have seen lots of people who target high competition and lose hope without any reason.

I mean it’s also a matter of common sense. Common guys..! How can you even think to make it to the first page with a single post when you have targeted very high competition, no matter how great your content is?

What I do more with my target keyword?

Nothing more in keyword research.

Step #2
Website Optimization

Website Optimization

I don’t know why I always end up telling you a lot more than I had planned for a specific post.

Must share your feedback if you don’t like the extra info.

Anyways let’s come to the point.

After buying a domain and installing WordPress, the very first thing I do is website optimization for faster loading.

It greatly impacts on user behavior.

Have you ever heard that website speed is a ranking factor as well? Yup that’s true! No matter to how much extent.

And do you know how actually it affects your ranking? NO?

Let me explain with an example…

Let’s say you are searching “YouTube SEO Tips” in Google and found BlogRex in fifth place!

D-Well Time

Source: Ahrefs

You will unintentionally open the first result, without noticing anything.

What if that web taking a time to load? I can expect you to click on the back button and try the 2nd result if loading time of the first result is annoyingly long.

And that’s natural, no one waits for that long. You’ll eventually open the 3rd result if 2nd one also does not have fast loading speed.

Let’s say you keep moving and end up trying BlogRex (5th place), which in return has awesome loading speed. You’ll finally be happy and would love to spend your precious time on our blog.

Now the time you’ll spend with us, is our site’s Dwell time in terms of SEO.

And I can simply state:

“More Dwell Time = More Ranking”

So, I think you have a good idea about this now! Right? And you must be thinking how actually i do that? And here, I’ll ask you to head over to these resources to learn your way out:

And here, I’ll ask you to head over to these resources to learn your way out:

Step #3
Content

Content Writing

After optimization my next target is content! You know the king indeed!

Now, what to do? And what I use to do?

I simply analyzed my competitors’ content.

Everyone had less than 2500 words and a few images each. None of them had any relevant video.

So I took my time to awesomely compile 3500+ words with 5 to 6 relevant images and definitely an amazing video.

TIP: Make your intro short not long it will improve your “Average Time on Page.”

Well, I wrote on all my keywords and developed strong internal linking as well. Next was all SEO part.

And whenever i think about SEO content or anyway about content development,  I’d especially like to mention Afraz, really mind blowing content strategist full of creativity.

And I am not promoting him, if you are an SEO, you’ll definitely find him somewhere in near future.

By the way, he had nothing to do with niche site related to this SEO case study, but he officially drafts for BlogRex.

Step #4
On Page SEO

I think you know what it is, and I am in love with this info-graphics about On-Page SEO.

Use SEO Friendly URL

A good looking URL not only attracts the viewers to increase your click through rate but also gets prefered attention of search engines.

I think i have already given this example on BlogRex somewhere. But it is the thing if you ask me:

What is SEO friendly URL? How it looks like? How to get this?

Ugly URLs: blogrex.com/?p=123

SEO Friendly URLs: blogrex.com/seo-case-study

Well, place your focus keyword sweetly in your URL, just like i do with my every post on my blog.

Not only ugly URL but in SEO, Long URL is also not useful. Try to keep it short and a little straightforward.

Always Start Title With Keyword

Title of your post is your very first interaction with organic viewers specifically.

Organic means a user from search engine.

Put your keyword in your title and have better chances of rapid ranking.

Use Your Keywords in Heading Tags

I recommend you to use your keywords in heading tags like H2 or H3.

Listen? Did you notice that I’m not talking about H1 tag?

Because WordPress is using Heading 1 tag in post title. So That’s why.

Use Your Keyword in URL and 1st Paragraph

Yes, Don’t forget to use your keyword in URL and 1st paragraph.

Internal Links

Doing internal linking is very good. You know why? Because it passes juice to your other posts..

Outbound Links

By giving outbound links to authority sites you’re telling google what your content is about.

And it’s very beneficial in Ranking.

Outbound links are extremely necessary.

They tell google that you trust other high authority resources related to your niche.

Now, you know what to do?

Apart from doing Off Page SEO, you can use the same method mentioned above which I always use.

Now before actually starting off-page:

I give some good social signals  to my posts before creating any links.

Do you know why?

Creating links quickly can make your site sandboxed…

But when you do some social sharing, it helps you to get out of SandBox.

How to do this?

I’ll share the best and free way to do this.

You can use AddMeFast to do this job for you.

You just need to join AddMeFast and you can exchange social signals with others..

Now, Let’s discuss about Off Page SEO what I exactly did?

This part is always exciting and really really effective.

Step #5
Off Page SEO

Off Page SEO

This is my favorite part…

You may already know these things, but trust me:

These are still working awesome for me and I am sure will do the same for you.

#1 Web 2.0

Yes! Normally we use this regularly in ranking… Web 2.0s are the best rank boosters…

I bought some Expired Tumblrs and used to my posts after 3 days of publishing.

But wait how did i used?

I used with an HTML Tag in description and 400+ words content with 1 Anchor Link and 1 Naked URL link.

You want that HTML Code? Yeah sure here it is…

I also used some other Web 2.0s like:

PS: You can add HTML Code in these Tumblrs but you can get 1 Anchor and 1 Naked URL link to your site.

You can find Expired Tumblrs by yourself too. You can google there are many tutorials about this.

TIP: Create some backlinks of these Web 2.0s like tier 2, I also did the same. It helped me a lot in stable ranking.

#2 Profile Submissions

I joined some profile creation sites which allowed me to give dofollow backlinks to my site.

And you know what? Profile Links gave me an excellent boost in ranking.

Here is an example of the link.

Profile Link Example

Profile Link Example

#3 Blog / Forum Commenting

Yeah I know it’s common, but it’s a case study dude! I have to share everything which I did!

So, I just joined some Forums to comment, and I used naked URL for this.

Mostly I did on Edu and Gov blogs… Because Google loves links from Edu and Gov blogs…

To be honest, I also did some spam like we do on Events.

Spam with Authority Links = Power

Well here is detailed about Blog Commenting For SEO by BlogRex.

After doing these things, my posts started ranking.

After this, I started giving some social signals regularly, and I repeated the same process mentioned above.

#4 Link Wheel

To boost my ranking, I used a Technique Called Link Wheel.

In this technique, we have to create different Web 2.0s and link with money site.  And then, create a link wheel of those web 2.0s.

Got it?

Here is an example:

Link Wheel Example

Link Wheel Example

Example: we have 5 different web 2.0s, and we name them A, B, C, D, E.

In link wheel, we have to link A To B and B To C And C To D And D To E.

Tip: Don’t forget to link your money site in every web 2.0

You didn’t see something new? If yes then let me tell you! Techniques are techniques and these are the working ones which i use to rank my website. And BlogRex is here to help you rank yours as well.

If you think these are old techniques which you already knew, and not ranking your site, then you have to work hard on your content and may be invested in SEO.

This is how I ranked my website, and now it’s your turn!

Remember: You can rank a certain level of difficulty in any niche with these techniques. But for higher competition, always analyze the efforts of top 10, and you’ll know how hard is to beat them.

Is it over!

Wait wait wait! Don’t forget to give me my share!

      Hi Mohsin

A relevant backlink, no matter nofolllow or dofollow, always contains some weight which is helpful in ranking.

And don’t worry about the DA if your blog is ranking. But if it is not doing good, then you may need to work on user-engagement. Look into the D-WELL time.

And i must say, 350 posts, is a real hard-work. We have just 9 on BlogRex till now. 🙂

    That was awesome case study!
I have a little bit confusion here!
1: You said that you have created .gov and .edu backlinks, but as I heard you need backlinks from relevent site. Is it true or not!
2: If we want to make a web 2.0 wheel and we dont have expired tumbler or blogspot, does the new ones help to ranks?

      Yeah Sure. 🙂
      1. Relevant Links Are Good But You can Create Non-Relevant Too.
      2. You have to Create Links of New Web 2.0 Then You Can Use Them For Link Wheel.

SEO always made me wonder ” Is there any magic ” How do people manage to get such good amount of traffic. I always wanted to learn seo genuinely being a enthusiast. Unfortunately went into the trap of some so called Internet marketers who pretend to people of making thousands of dollars and they actually make money teaching
“how to make money “. Either they share the income screenshots or motivational quotes but never the actual actionable tips a newbie actually needs to be there. You know what i am connected with BlogRex from quite long and i find quite useful content . BlogRex always came with strategies that practically work ! I am quite satisfied with your guide and found it be quite useful.

Thanks for creating such useful post buddy 🙂 I hope you keep coming with such updated case studies 🙂

      Hi Shahin

Hope you doing great. Keyword research not only means that we’ll hunt some cool phrases with high search volume, low competition and high CPC etc.

Google trends is way more than that….you can easily analyze your any keyword if it’s web loved or video keyword.

Open the trends and check your target keyword for different categories, like i often check which type of audience is interested in my keyword…….if there are more business persons than other categories, the keyword will be more lucrative and will definitely give a boost to your CPC.

Just play with trends and you’ll find a lot.
